The pioneer was designed and built as a part of Flanders Week in Gdansk, as a result of our close collaboration with the Flemish design bureaus: Atelier Parkoer, LAMA landscape architects VOF and studio k. A wooden machine allowing people to sow seeds was made to awake the sleeping nature. A pioneer was constructed so that it was an enjoyable and eye-catching way to sow selected flowers seeds and then transform the site into green islands. Located in the park near the Shakespeare Theatre and on Mariacka Street, a machine manipulated a spot and then disappeared, like snow in summer. As spring dawns the work done by the pioneer becomes visible and the blooming flowers are an asylum for local butterflies.
